He was a mentor, educator and friend to many of us in the photographic industry. He earned his Masters degree from the Professional Photographers of America at age 26, and holds an honorary degree from Brooks Institute of Photography. Dean is known in the industry for his pioneering work in understanding the mechanics of light, and how that translates to both film and digital photography.
